Pentecostal Affirming Ministries is an accepting, affirming and annointed ministry. We are a multicultural church with compassion to reach others with the love of Jesus Christ our Lord. We don't judge others reguardless of their race, gender, social status, or sexuality. We welcome all to come and worship with us in our affirming ministry where we preach One God, One Church, and One Family. We are a church with a mission with a pastor with a message. The message we preach here at P.A.M. is God is love and whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Our ministry runs a kids ministry, online ministry, support group, and pantry. Worship services are on Sundays and Bible Study is on Wednesday. We are located in the heart of North Charleston WV.
About Us Pentecostal Affirming Ministries
Pentecostal Affirming Ministries was founded on June 3, 2011. We started with 30 people at Ryan's Restaurant in Charleston WV where we agreed on the name of the church and its mission. We decided that we wanted to preach One God, One Church, and One Family. We wanted everyone to know that everybody is a somebody at P.A.M. We agreed to be a church with a mission with a pastor with a message. We met in a Restaurant in South Charleston at Smoky Rib House for 3 weeks. We located an old abandoned church in North Charleston where we located the owners and met with them to discuss working out an agreement for renting or buying the church. The owners 3 days after meeting with us decided to give this ministry the church facility. We started moving in and remodeling the same day the keys were given to us. We had no church van for outreach ministries the week after the church was given to us and church van was purchased for this ministry. We have been blessed with donations, building supplies, and labor that has gotten this church restored to its formal glory. We have replaced all the doors, windows, ceilings, bathroom, paint, and etc. We have a great vision for this ministry which currently involves a food, clothing, and hygiene pantry. We are a blessed group of people that makes us P.A.M.
There is one God who has manifested himself as Father in creation, the Son in Redemption, and the Holy Ghost in Regeneration. We affirm the early Apostolic view that Jesus was both fully human and fully divine, and is the fullness of the Godhead manifested in the flesh. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, had a miraculous ministry, died on the cross for the sins of all, rose from the dead, and will come again. Deut. 6:4; Is. 43:10-11, 45:21; Hosea 13:4; Mark 12:29; 1 Cor. 8:4-6; 1 Tim 2:5; James 2:19; Is. 7:14; Matt. 1:23; Acts 10:38; 2 Cor. 5:21; Acts 2:31-32; John 1:1-5,14; John 10:30; Col. 1:19, 2-9; 2 Cor. 4:6; 1 Tim 4:10; Titus 2:13
The Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. It was written by men of old as the Holy Ghost moved on them. No contention is made for a perfect translation, and care should be given to understanding God's Word as it was intended to be understood, by the original recipients, maintaining historical and cultural context.2 Tim. 3:16; Matt. 24:35
Redemption is a gift of God purchased by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is available to all and obtained through faith, grace, and obedience to the Word of God. The Apostolic message calls for; Belief in Christ, Repentance, Water Baptism by full immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and receiving the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues. Acts 2:4,38-39; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:46-48; Acts 19 5-6; Acts 22:16; 1 Cor. 14:5,18; Rom. 8:9, 11, 15-16; Gal. 3:13, Gal. 5:4,18; 1 Jn. 5:8; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Heb. 9:22; Rom. 6:4-6; Titus 3:5
Holiness is an ongoing process of separation from sin and growing closer to God and God's will. We encourage every believer to live a life of modesty, moderation, honesty and morality. We are to flee sin in pursuit of God's righteousness in our lives. Heb. 12:1; Rom.8:5-14; 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Thess. 5:22; 2 Cor. 6:17; 1 Jn. 2:15; Gal. 2:20
Those who have responded to the Word of God, not only as believers, but as doers, make up the church of Jesus Christ. The church is also known as the Bride of Christ and bears His Name in covenant relationship. Jesus, not any other individual or entity should determine who is His bride.1 Tim. 3:15; Ephes. 5:27; 1 Peter 2:9; Jn. 3:3-5; Rev. 21:2; Acts 15:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 Thess. 5:22; 2 Cor. 6:17; 1 Jn. 2:15; Rom. 8:7; Acts 2:38; Acts 8:16; Acts 10:48; Acts 19:5; Acts 22:16
Gender & Orientation
Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Mark 12:25 For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.
Scripture teaches that Jesus will return for His church. We also believe that there will be a seven-year tribulation during which time the anti-Christ will be revealed. Following the Great tribulation, the Battle of Armageddon will be fought which will culminate in Christ's victory over Satan. Thus begins Christ's one-thousand year Earthly reign of peace. This millennial reign will end with the judgment of the human race and the assignment of all people to their eternal reward or punishment.
